Guest Participation Waiver

Participation acknowledgment and agreement

I understand that participation at Big City Gamers may include PC and console gaming, virtual or simulated competition, tournaments, karaoke, pool, air hockey, use of electronic equipment, and movement throughout an active entertainment facility.

1. Voluntary participation and ordinary risks. I voluntarily choose to participate. I understand that ordinary risks may include slips, trips, falls, collisions with people or furnishings, repetitive-motion discomfort, eye strain, headaches, motion sickness, loud sounds, flashing or rapidly changing lights, emotional stress from competition, and damage to personal belongings.
2. Health and safety. I am responsible for deciding whether I—or the minor guest named on this form—can safely participate. Anyone with a history of seizures, photosensitivity, balance problems, heart conditions, or another condition that may be affected by gaming, flashing lights, physical activity, or loud sounds should seek medical guidance before participating and inform staff of needed accommodations.
3. Rules and conduct. I agree to follow posted rules and staff instructions; use equipment only as intended; avoid threats, fighting, harassment, excessive profanity, rage behavior, cheating, theft, and property damage; and respect other guests. Big City Gamers may stop play or require a guest to leave for unsafe or disruptive conduct.
4. Personal property and equipment. I am responsible for my personal belongings. I agree to pay for damage I or the minor guest intentionally or negligently cause to equipment, furnishings, or the facility, to the extent permitted by law.
5. Emergency assistance. If an emergency occurs and I cannot respond, I authorize staff to contact emergency services and the emergency contact listed above. I understand that I am responsible for resulting medical or transportation costs to the extent permitted by law.
6. Assumption of ordinary, inherent risks. To the extent permitted by Louisiana law, I knowingly accept the ordinary and inherent risks of the activities I choose to participate in. This agreement does not waive or limit any right or liability that cannot legally be waived or limited.
